Every service includes a consultation, a wash at our massage basins, and a finished style. Color work is quoted precisely at consultation — the figures below are where each service begins.
Signature Cut & Finish
A precision cut built around your texture, your part, and how you actually dry your hair at home. Finished with a blowout and styling lesson.
Full Balayage
Hand-painted dimension from root to end, toned to a shade that grows out soft instead of striped. Includes gloss and bond treatment.
Root Melt & Gloss
The six-week refresh: your regrowth blended seamlessly into existing color, sealed with a shine gloss that lasts through beach season.
Blowout & Style
Forty-five minutes in the chair, out the door camera-ready. Add a braid, waves, or a sleek press for date night or a big meeting.
Keratin Smoothing
A formaldehyde-free smoothing treatment that cuts drying time in half and calms frizz for up to four months — made for San Diego humidity.
Bridal & Event Styling
Updos, Hollywood waves, and full bridal-party styling. Trials in studio; day-of styling available on location across San Diego County.
Long or high-density hair may carry a supplement — we'll always quote before we begin.

Our Story
Fifteen years behind the chair
Velvet Dune started the way most good things in North Park do — in a borrowed space with a folding mirror and a long waitlist. I'd spent a decade cutting in big downtown salons where appointments were timed to the minute, and I knew I wanted the opposite: a studio where nobody feels rushed and your stylist actually remembers what you talked about last time.
In 2019 we signed the lease in North Park, sanded the floors ourselves, and hung the first mirror the week before Thanksgiving. Today we're six stylists strong. We train together every month, we color-match under the same warm west-facing light, and we'd rather talk you out of a drastic change than sell you one you'll regret.
